Joni's educational journey began at West Virginia University (WVU), where she majored in Housing and Design. She then pursued further studies at New College of Sarasota, specializing in Fine Arts. With a strong foundation in both practical and creative disciplines, Joni was well-equipped for a diverse range of professional and personal pursuits.
In 1978, Joni, along with her husband Marty, relocated to the picturesque island of Sanibel. Marty, a lifelong resident of Sanibel, was eager to return to his roots, and Joni embraced the opportunity to immerse herself in the vibrant community.
As their children began attending Sanibel School, Joni's dedication to education and community service naturally led her to start volunteering there. Her background in Housing and Design, coupled with her Fine Arts expertise, made her a valuable asset to the school's various programs and initiatives. Over the years, Joni's contributions to the Sanibel School and the broader community have left a lasting impact, reflecting her commitment to both her family and her passion for education and the arts.
